What to expect during a Vapor Intrusion Assessment

When certain contaminants containing volatile organic compounds (VOCs) mix in the subsurface soil and groundwater, they may form vapors that can travel through soil and enter buildings through cracks in the concrete slab, floor drains, sumps, and gaps around utility lines. This process is known as vapor intrusion.

To ensure that property owners, occupants or residents are not being exposed to potential health risks from these vapors, we perform indoor air and soil gas sub-slab vapor assessments within residential and commercial properties to evaluate potential VI exposure pathways and health risks. We evaluate the defensible data to manage associated risk and assess compulsory responsibility.

This short video explains what will occur during a typical indoor sampling event, which may provide some answers to questions.
