How a “Brownfield of Dreams” can attract companies

Kevin Costner’s character in “Field of Dreams” built a baseball park in an Iowa cornfield on the seemingly ludicrous mantra,”if you build it they will come.” He did, and they did. Now, the city of Indianapolis is betting its economic future on a similar concept. The idea that abandoned factories can be magnets for entrepreneurial software programmers, “clean” manufacturers, work space sharers and craft brewers.
