An article from the Times of Northwest Indiana discusses EnviroForensics’ plans for thermal remediation at the site of a former Hammond dry cleaner, Do-All Village Cleaners. Thermal remediation evaporates groundwater and is faster than other remediation processes. If approved, it will be the first time the thermal remediation process will be used in Hammond. In addition to remediation work, EnviroForensics was able to locate historical insurance policies to help some of the potentially responsible parties cover the costs associated with environmental contamination.
