Mr. Kappen is a project manager and registered professional geologist with more than ten years of experience in environmental consulting with a focus on contaminated site management. His diversified professional experience includes research, proposal scoping and budgeting, project management, geologic and hydrogeologic data collection, data analysis and interpretation, and preparation of work plans and reports. Mr. Kappen has served in supporting and management roles on numerous investigation and remediation projects regulated by state, RCRA and CERCLA programs, primarily involving chlorinated solvent impacts. Mr. Kappen has also been involved with several Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments and served as field team leader for a comprehensive two-year environmental baseline study at a remote mine prospect. Mr. Kappen’s field experience includes subsurface utility clearance; soil, ground water, surface water, sediment, and wipe sampling; oversight of auger, hammer, sonic, and wire-line core drilling; direct-push and cone penetrometer borings; and in-situ permeability testing and aquifer testing.
